The Bard's Tale II: The Destiny Knight was the successor to the brilliant original. Continuity was ensured with the feel of the original with Bill Heineman programming the sequel.
The Destiny Knight is more of the same... but a lot more. Characters (as well as their attributes) can be imported from the original Bard's Tale or other Apple II role players to make the new adventuring dive create less of a splash. There are now 25 Dungeon levels and six whole cities each with guilds, review boards, Roscoe's Energy Emporiums, taverns, casinos and temples. There's even a new mage class, the Archmage with new spells. And time limits to real time puzzles.
Your party's deeds have travelled far and wide, and your assistance is required yet again. An evil Archmage, Lagoth Zanta, has split the uniting power of the destiny wand to plunge the Realm into chaos and confusion. The seven pieces must be restored and Lagoth defeated by its power.
Gain gold and experience, map the dungeons and find the clues to enable you to pass the Snare of Death(s), puzzle rooms each holding a piece of the destiny wand. It's more of the same excellent graphics, new Bard songs and new monsters. Have fun adventuring!
Note: A ready made character disk has been included in this archive. When you click on 'Start the Bard's Tale' the game will ask which drive the character disk is in. Selecting Drive 2, Slot 1 should work if you have inserted both disks in your emulator.
