The manual for UMS 2 includes detailed instructions for starting the program on the IIGS, but the game itself has never been released for our favourite platform. If anyone knows more about this title for the IIGS, or better yet, owns a copy be sure to write in.
Also, I recently found an article in the September 1989 issue of Nibble, where Neil Shapiro, in his regular column 'Shapiro on Games', interviewed the developers of the first United Military Simulator who described the process of optimising it for the IIGS in assembly language, whereas the other versions were written in C. So the game does exist, somewhere.
